WORTLEY HALL WALLED GARDEN

Wortley Hall Walled Garden, Wortley Hall, Wortley, S35 7DB

Who we are

Wortley Hall Walled Garden is managed by Heeley City Farm (well-known charity/city farm in centre of Sheffield) in partnership with Wortley Hall, the "Workers Stately Home". This historic garden has been restored and is now used as an organically certified kitchen garden with regular volunteer sessions and courses. The garden is open to the public and has won a number of awards. Crops are grown to a professional standard to supply the hall, to a box scheme and shops, to garden visitors, and for volunteers to take home.

How you can help

Working in the garden, and all the jobs that entails such as sowing seeds, planting seedlings, weeding, making compost, harvesting crops. As a walled garden, the 200 year old walls are in need of repair and so we are also looking for experienced builders/bricklayers to help with this. No experience required, just an interest in working in the garden with the rest of the volunteer and staff team. Staff will train volunteers as necessary.
