Who we are

The Exodus Project is a children’s charity, based on the Barnsley/Wakefield border, in Yorkshire. We were registered with the Charity Commission in June 2002. Through a network of weekly activity clubs, Exodus is diverting children and young people from destructive lifestyles and helping them to realise their potential. Our work is not just about getting kids off the streets and into meaningful activity. That’s the easy part. We are about building trusting and lasting relationships with children and young people and investing in the disadvantaged communities in which many of them live. As well as the activity clubs, our work involves activity holidays, home visiting, schools work and community engagement. In partnership, we are making a difference. We currently run clubs for children aged 8-11, and separate clubs for older young people aged 11-15. All those attending, as well as having great fun, learn the importance of respecting others and working as a team.
