The Old Bakery, Rear of 116-118 Midland Road, Royston, Barnsley S71 4QT

Who we are

We provide safe and supportive exercise facilities for people who may have medical problems which prevent or limit attendance to normal sessions run by leisure centres and gyms. Our members may have health problems such as heart disease, COPD, arthritis, diabetes etc but want to maintain their health and independence. We also offer social activities that encourage friendship and promote a strong community spirit.

How you can help

Our sessions are very popular and are all run by volunteers. We run sessions 5 days a week and covering for holidays is always a problem. More volunteers would be greatly appreciated. Ideally new volunteers would have some medical background (perhaps as retired nurse, ambulance service or doctor), OR experience as a fitness instructor. We may be able to fund training for qualifications for Fitness Instructors who are at Level 2 and wish to progress to Level 3 and Level 4 (cardiac rehab).
